Creating a Tomb

The ancient Egyptians buried their dead with items that they might need in the afterlife.  Pharaohs were buried with riches such as gold, jewels, etc.  Their servants and pets might be included as well.  Sometimes other family members might also be included.  Favorite items could also be included in the tomb.

Imagine you are an ancient Egyptian pharaoh.  Being so powerful, you have the opportunity to instruct your servants how you would like your tomb constructed and what items you would like included in it.  In order to remind them you will need to create a model.

Your model might be in the shape of a pyramid but could take any form, such as a shoebox.  This should be decorated with colorful drawings or photographs. Also, a cartouche encasing your name and any other hieroglyphics of your choice should decorate your tomb. The tomb should include objects or pictures of items or people you want buried with you.  The pictures can be drawings, magazine clippings, photos, etc.  Think about those things which might be useful to you in the next life. Use the rubric below to guide your creation.
