Spanish 2

Credit: 1.00

Prerequisite: Spanish 1

Description: Students of Level 2 Spanish communicate in the target language continuing and expanding the development of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing as initiated in Level 1. Speaking will receive the most attention but the speech of social interactions shows emerging complexity in both new and familiar controlled settings. For a variety of real life topics and authentic situations writing and performing dialogs of shopping, traveling, ordering in a restaurant will demonstrate basic conversational patterns information. Some culture driven productions in response to the arts will also encourage limited individual expression as students achieve the novice high oral proficiency of the ACTFL scale specifications. Technology may assist, collaboration may strengthen individual effort and connections with other disciplines may enrich as students solve problems necessary for survival and communication in the real life target speaking culture. Opportunities for national achievement and pro achievement testing of the AATF, AATG, or AATSP may sometimes supplement performance assessments.
