Welcome to the Webquest for Crime. In this webquest you will undertake various activities in order to hopefully help you better understand certain crimes. A crime is an offense to society, and is punishable by law. There are countless types of crimes, and punishments to undergo, should one ever be committed, such as jail, prison, and fines, to name a few. One of the most controversials forms of punishment anywhere is the Death Penalty.

When and why is it used?

In some countries death penalty can only be used to punish people for murder. In other countries it is also used as punishment for other crimes, such as dealing drugs or in some countries for adultery.
In several countries death penalty is used against ethnical, cultural and religious minorities and against political prisoners. The use of the death penalty in the United States is still a very controversial issue.
