What is going on in French Revolution

     In this unit we will be looking at the causes and outcomes of the French Revolution in Europe. In addition there are some student worksheets which are password protected and are intended for the use of our students only. There will be an number of assessments for this unit some students will be doing a portfolio presentation. The class will also be responsible for a writing assignment, as well as the traditional reading assigments, quizzes and the test. The standards that will be assessed in this unit are: 5.2.12, 6.2.12,6.3.12A/D, 6.4.12, 7.3.12, 7.4.12, 8.1.12. 8.4.12.

Day 1








Theme: Seeds of Revolution
Look at Pictures on page 421, 429, and 479. Make connections (8.4.12C)
Review Guided Reading and Review page 20 (8.4.12 D)
Using Flash, Introduce Social Classes; look at Diagram to see land distribution (p. 481) and population comparison, draw conclusions
Show picture of Bastille and explain the layout and refute Idea of the crowd storming (de Launay)
Discuss History through Literature p41 “Tale of Two Cities” (8.4.12B)
Assign: Read pages ch 19 sec 2

Day 2







Assigned each row one of the statements from GRR. They must create an “A” relationship statement fully explaining the words GRR sec 2 . (8.4.12C)
Using Flash and page 485 and class notes have students Compare and contrast the Declaration of Independence and Declaration of Rights of Man, how does each embody enlightenment ideals? (8.4.12C)
