PowerPoint presentation that will be presented to the class in a few weeks (see announcements for exact date) Read pg. 128 and 129 (timeline) answer the following questions in notebooks: 1. According to Virgil, What was Rome’s mission? 2. What does the fresco indicate about the Roman economy? 3. What does the time line suggest about the duration of Roman power? Then in groups did the activity on page 134 in the section review. Here the groups will write newspaper headlines about the rise of Rome Looked at transparencies showing Roman expansion in the Mediterranean Region then the class in their groups was assigned a time period from the transparency and asked the class to look at their time period and give a list of advantages and disadvantages to Roman expansion Assignment: Read Ch 6 sec 2 and do handout on Cleopatra and Nero answer all questions on handouts |
