Listened to a tape calling Muslims out to prayer Reviewed map of Middle East and discussed the rate of change of Christians to Islam and why that happened in the Middle East Background information and then talked about the 5 pillars of Islamic faith. For notes and background information (Click here) Worked in small groups. Each group was assigned a heading in Ch 11 sec 1 and asked to create an outline for their heading. (headings are the purple highlighted subsections in the reading) Reviewed in class Use page 259 to construct a bar graph in notes of the world religions and the number of members for each religion Answer the following question: Why did Islam have so many converts? Assignment: Read Ch 11 sec 2 |
