Welcome to the WAHG 1 homepage! The purpose of this page is to give students and parents the opportunity to access their WAHG 1 class from their desktop in the time of absence or need. From this homepage all students and parents will have the access to the daily lessons. In addition, students will also be able to access all grading rubrics and study guides from this webpage!(Other important information will in highlighted in red like the section of text below)
For those students and parents new to the WAHG program, all students are expected to have passed WAHG 1, 2 and 3 before graduating high school. WAHG is a course that combines American History, World History, and Geography into one course. In WAHG 1, we will cover all of history from the earliest people up to colonization. During each unit geography will also be one of the components that students will be taught.
In WAHG, each student will have a cumulative grade. This means that all students will be evaluated and given a final grade on everything that they have done throughout the semester. So passing one quarter doesn't insure a passing grade for the course. Students will be graded on all the following: presentations, journal entries, group projects, class participation, tests, quizzes, notebooks, and homework! To the left are all the units that we will be studying in this course. If materials are missing or students miss a day of class the lesson plans for that day are posted. At each page there is a brief overview of what to expect during the unit. In the description one will see bold face words. These bold face words refer to both major assignments and rubrics that can be accessed and printed from this website. The papers are in a PDF format and can be downloaded. May need to upgrade to Adobe Reader 8.0 if you can't view the file. Good luck and happy surfing!
