What is going on in Happy Days!

     This is a brief unit on what life was like during the 1950's. There is no test on this unit but there is an Anthropology paper which will be graded for this unit. We will be discussing the time of poodle skirts and the hula hop over the next few days. Enjoy!

Day 1







 

Wrapped up the Cold War unit
Discussed the Anthropology report for this unit using rubric given out to the class yesterday
Watched a show that show some clothing styles, music, fads, etc of the 1950’s
Assigned all the new handouts as classroom work (will need ideas from these sheets in paper so take notes)
Assigned Readings as homework:  World History Book: chpt 33 sec 3, American Journey Book: 527- 32 and 537-39. These reading are to be used for more information on the 1950’s (must use all 3 sources in report )
BONUS OPPORTUNITY: 10-20 points for dressing in 1950’s style (see Fashion Book from Library) 5-15 points for food eaten in the 1950’s. This is due on Day 3 of the unit with the paper.
