Prerequisite: Algebra I

  Algebra II is a highly structured mathematics course designed primarily for those students who have achieved a significant level of competency in Algebra from Algebra I and who plan to pursue areas of math and/or science as a full time college student after high school. Properties of real numbers and their uses are disussed; linear, quadratic and higher degree inequalities are solved; equations, functions, and inequalities are graphed; word problems are solved and expressions which contain variables, real numbers and imaginary numbers are simplified among many other topics and exercises. Student competency is evaulated in daily work, quizzes, chapter tests and a final examination. Cooperative learning is emphasized through small group work. Algebra II is a prerequisite for Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry.
