Mrs. Paulette Armbruster teaches Earth and Physical Science and Biology I. In both classes labs, group projects, presentations, research, and note taking are done. Disections are done in Biology I.In Earth and Physical Science targeted areas of study are earth science, chemistry, and physical science. In Earth Science students will explore topics in mineralogy, plate tectonics. seismology, volcanism, weathering and erosion, agronomy, glaciology, and meteorology. All students will be required to prepare a rock collection, collect a soil sample, and complete multiple class exercises and laboratories. In Physical Science students will explore topics in matter and measurement, basic chemistry, motion, work and simple machines, energy, electricity, and light.
Biology I CP is an academic biology course designed for college preparatory students. The student should be able to demonstrate a basic familiarity with some simple laboratory techniques and the key principles of modern biology after completion of the course. Major emphasis is placed upon cellular and molecular biology in keeping with current discoveries and advancements in the biological sciences. Other areas studied are microbiology, genetics, evolution, modern taxonomy, and ecology.
