1. Presentation from your topic area (15-20 minutes)

2. Written summary (concise) to be handed out to the class
(I’ll make the copies for the class if you give it to me a minimum of one day before your
presentation)

Must include: Classification (**pay attention to the word endings**), characteristics, examples


TOPIC #1: Chapter 26+27 = Sponge, Cnidarians (formerly Coelenterates), Mollusks
Classification = Kingdom, Phylum, Class (K+P only for sponges)
This is what we will be doing in class if you would like to use:
Dissecting = Clam, Squid
Observation = Variety of samples (coral, jellyfish, snail, octopus)

TOPIC #2: Chapter 27 = Flatworm, Roundworm, Segmented worm
Classification = Kingdom, Phylum, Class (K+P only for roundworm)
This is what we will be doing in class if you would like to use:
Dissecting = Earthworm
Observation = Variety of samples (planaria, fluke tapeworm, roundworm, leech, nereis)

TOPIC #3: Chapter 28 = Crustaceans + Chelicerates
Classification = Kingdom, Phylum, Class
This is what we will be doing in class if you would like to use:
Dissecting = Crayfish
Observation = Variety of samples (spider, horseshoe crab, scorpion)

TOPIC #4: Chapter 28 = Insects, Echinoderms
Classification = Kingdom, Phylum, Class
This is what we will be doing in class if you would like to use:
Dissecting = Grasshopper
Observation = Variety of samples (# insects, sea urchin, starfish)

TOPIC #5: Chapter 30 = Fish
Classification = Kingdom, Phylum, Class
