Biology 1 CP taught by Katrina Robbins

Prerequisite: 80%+ in Earth/Physical Science or Accelerated Earth Science

This is an academic biology course designed for college preparatory students.

The student, upon completion of the course, should be able:

to demonstrate a basic familiarity with some simple laboratory techniques and with the key principles of modern biology.

Major emphasis is place upon cellular and molecular biology in keeping with
current discoveries and advancements in the biological sciences.

Other areas studied include:

microbiology,

genetics,

evolution,

modern taxonomy,

ecology.

Methods of student assessment include:

tests, quizzes, laboratory work, along with written and oral reports
