Blast
off in Enrichment!!
The Quest for Bonus Points!

There are many ways to earn Bonus Points in Enrichment this year. You can earn points at home, in class, or in the homeroom classroom during any time the teacher says it is ok to work in your enrichment folder. Bonus Points can be “redeemed” for a variety of different awards, the most popular being lunch parties with guests of your choice. Your child will receive a separate flyer addressing exactly how your child can earn these points. These points are available to both full session and mini group students in grades 3,4,& 5. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
Monthly Envelope
In addition to the website blog, I’d like to try another new communication idea this year. It’s the “Monthly Enrichment Envelope”! This will give you a “hands on” look at what your child is doing in enrichment and mini enrichment. I will send the envelope home near the end of every other month. I will ask you to view the contents, make any comments that you’d like, sign the front, and send the envelope and all of the contents back to me to be put into your child’s portfolio. The first envelope will arrive the end of October and then at the end of every other month after that. I used this last year and it was well received and worked great. So………….watch for the “Enrichment Envelope” to arrive at the end of October!!
That’s all for now! I hope you found this info helpful. Please feel free to
contact me with any concerns, suggestions, comments, or questions that may
arise as the year progresses. I love hearing from you!
Please check the webpage every DAY 1 as I will be updating the Current
News Section every Day 6.
I will leave you with a favorite quote of mine…
One of God’s greatest miracles is to enable ordinary people to do
extraordinary things. According to the laws of aerodynamics, the bumblebee
cannot fly! I guess no one bothered to tell the bee! Go for your dreams and
never let ANYONE convince you that you can’t achieve them!

**Thumbprint Stories (grade two 2006/07)
**These are terrific! The kiddos made thumbprints thinking they were just being creative! Well, they were, but little did they know that there was a Part 2 to the project! Never trust Mrs. F. to make things simple:) Next I told them their assignment was to create a story incorporating the thumbprint creations into the story. The story, of course, needed to have a plot and a good beginning, middle, and ending! They did a great job on a tough assignment! We decided to share this with you by making.........a movie!! How cooooool is that? Many thanks to Mrs. O'Malley for being our videographer, producer, etc... Just click on the link above and you are off to...........Hollywood via the 2nd grade enrichment kids!! Enjoy!!
