A Special Visit from Tomas,

our Spanish Friend!

Seigfried emerges!

Ohhhhhhhh......we discover Sigfried is a GIRL!  Better change that name to Sigfrieda! How do we know?  There are no scent spots on the hind wings.  Males have these to attract the females!

Sigfrieda DID, in fact, begin her journey the next morning when the sun came out and warmed her up!  Pleasant journey our beautiful friend!

**Many thanks to Mrs. O'Malley for chrysalis sitting for Sigfrienda while I was away and for documenting her emergence through these wonderful photos!

**Our Symbolic Butterflies which will begin their journey to our friends in Mexico on October 12th!

Here we are writing our letters to our Mexican friends in Spanish with help from Mrs. Apfelbaum and her students!!

We raised $105.69 for the Monarch Sanctuary Foundation! Thanks everyone!!

A Date With A Plate!!

The boys were given 2 plates and told they must cut them at least 3 times and must use ALL the pieces they had after the cutting to create a fish and an elephant.  Look what they did!!  WOW!  Great creative thinking and planning guys!! Be proud!
