Reading
At the conclusion of fourth grade, students should incorporate skills learned in all previous grades to be an improved reader and listener. Vocabulary and comprehension skills should be refined during this year. Students should have an appreciation and/or awareness of many genres of literature. Students should also recognize reading as a lifetime skill.
Our new reading series by Harcourt School Publishers has a web based skills section that can be done at home to reinforce skills learned in school. Begin at the following web site.
Go For Grammar Gold, Reading Skills Rocket, and Grammar Practice Park are all good games to start with. Notice the parent section at the bottom right.
