Our writing workshop is one of my favorite times of the day. Students will work on many different styles and forms of writing in fourth grade such as narratives, persuasives, and informational essays. Your student will be creating a fourth grade portfolio where they will have a collection of essays, poems, and stories, to share with you. At the end of the year the student will be able to take the entire year's collection of stories they have written. Exceptional projects will make an appearance on the "showcase" section of the website.      We will also be working on spelling and grammar. We will pretest every Monday and test Fridays for spelling. The list will usually follow our story we are reading that week. Grammar will be a daily practice. Students will have homework weekly to be done in a notebook. Quizzes will also be given, and the dates will be in the newsletter or if unexpected will be written the night before in your child's assignment book.
