For Language Arts we will do both English and Spelling. We use English books to learn the skills needed to become better writers. We keep journals that we write in three times a week. Our journals will show how much our writing has improved. On Fridays students will do an evaluated piece for their journals. For Spelling we will have spelling lists that consists of words from the stories we do in our Reading books and high frequency words from the Sitton Spelling lists. We have a spelling test every two weeks, usually on a Friday. We will be doing a lot of creative writing this year.
