Language Arts . . .
In Language Arts we will be learning to recognize literary devices used in our reading series as well as in the classroom schedule. We will also be working to improve sentence structure, punctuation, and proper conventions of grammar with Daily Language Practice examples. In addition, working through the writing process will provide us the opportunity to focus on PSSA Writing Domains: Focus, Content, Organization, Style, and Conventions.
The Writing Process consists of a series of steps to bring the writing to publication.
PREWRITING ROUGH DRAFT CONFERENCE EDIT PUBLISH
By the end of the school year, students will have created several writings for their portfolios that will include a persuasive writing piece, two narrative pieces, and an informational piece.
