Mrs. Hackenberger Miss Wolf
Title I Math is designed to provide extra instruction to students having difficulty with math concepts. We provide students with both individual and small group instruction on concepts currently being covered in their classrooms. Students engage themselves in meaningful hands-on activities which create a positive learning environment.
Each week students are provided with a "Problem of the Week", which they attempt to solve on their own . If successful, students receive a guess slip to estimate the number of candies/objects at the Estimation Station. This process is a great way to engage students in problem solving and practicing word problems. At the end of each month, the guess container is emptied and the student estimating closest to the number of candies/objects in the container WINS! And the winners are...
We are off to a good start. once again this year. We have enjoyed seeing our returning students and meeting our new students. We hope that you are all practicing math facts every night at home. There are so many simple things that you can do at home to practice, such as: ask mom or dad to count their change, tell someone the time before you watch your favorite TV show, help make dinner by measuring out the ingredients, or just count a few item around the house and then count a few more and add the numbers together. It is so easy that it won't feel like work.
