Dear Parent / Guardian / Student:

We are pleased to inform you of a powerful new communication tool that is available for both you and
your student to keep track of his/her daily progress in school. The tool is a new electronic gradebook
(eSembler) and it is accessible on the web. Logging into eSembler will allow you / your student to view
class assignments, grades, attendance, and teacher comments directly.
eSembler was implemented as a tool to foster communication between families and the school. It is
important for parents/students to understand that this online gradebook is not necessarily a substitute for
the teacher's actual grading system. Your student's teacher maintains final authority to determine course
grades and correct any errors or omissions from what you see online.

Every parent / guardian/ student may access this system through our website.

Also, it is available from the Selinsgrove Area School District’s website at http://www.seal-pa.org .
It is a link located under “Tech Services” > eSembler.
To get started, you need to first create a new user account.

Click on the “New Account” icon and fill out the following information: new account

Enter the following:

. Your First Name
. Your Last Name
. Username(email address)
. Confirm your username
. Phone Number
. Password *
. Confirm your password
. Accept the Terms and
Conditions

After your account is created, you will be sent an email with information on how to finish
the setup of your account.

Once you have accepted the email, you will then be able to add students to your account.

After following the instructions in the eMail, you may log into eSembler. Once logged on you be able to
add your students.
To Add a student to your account, click this option or click the link “here”.

Enter the following:

. Students ID number **
. Student First Name
. Student Last Name
. Student Date of Birth
. Grade Level.


Click “Save”


You are now ready to use the system.

If you have multiple students within the district, continue to click the option to “Add Student” to add them
to your account.

Note:
* Parents / Guardians / Students, you select your own password. Passwords will not be generated for you.
** If you do not know your students id number, check their schedule, or you may contact your students guidance office.
