Good Readers...

• Predict-  What do I think is going to happen?
• Connect to the Text-  What does this remind me of?  (another text, your life, world)
• Visualize-  What do I see as I am reading?
• Ask Questions-  I wonder what is happening here?
• Infer-  What do I know, are there clues from the text, and know I can think about what is to come.
• Decide What is Important-  I think this is important.  I think this is less important.
• Synthesizing-  I can combine new information with existing knowledge to form an original idea.
