Web Elements was created 10 years ago by Dr. Mark Winter. Dr. Winter is a member of the Chemistry Department at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. This site has a professional edition and a student edition which is easier to read and organized for students.

Chemical Elements.com was created by Yinon Bentor in 1996. At the time Yinon was completing this for his eighth grade science fair project. This project won the "Navy/Marines Distinguished Achievement Special Award" at the 40th Piedmont Region III Science Fair. Since then he has been updating the information, but not exact last update was given on the page. This site is at a middle school student’s level. The graphics are easy to read and understand along with the descriptions.

ChemiCool was created by David D. Hsu, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1996. Since it was created it has won among others, the "Ten Cool Sites" for Exploratorium Learning Studio's best in Science, Art, & K-12. This site does not provide any pictures of the elements but does provide detailed information on the elements including the date it was discovered, boiling point, state, and other scientific information.
