Counseling Services
Responsive Services –Students’ immediate needs are met through responsive services such as individual or group counseling, consultation with parents, teachers and administrators, referrals to outside agencies, peer mediation, information gathering and coordination.
Individual Student Planning – These services are designed to assist students in establishing personal goals and develop future plans through ongoing systemic planning. This includes assisting in the development of high school schedules, placing new students, team placements, and conducting screenings for the Instructional Support Team (IST) and enrichment programs.
System Support – The purpose of these services is to establish, maintain and enhance the school counseling program which includes records management, case consultation, serving on school as well as community committees, coordinating the state and district standardized assessment program, and professional development.
Guidance Curriculum- A developmentally structured lesson approach for all middle school students to develop knowledge and skills appropriate to their age and grade level. The lessons follow the national counseling standards which include career, academic, and personal/social domains.
