The announcement by the governor of school building closure for the remainder of the academic year has a significant impact on all facets of our educational system. It means that we will continue with distance learning for all of our students so that they can end with as much anticipated content knowledge as possible. Students can expect they will be promoted on to the next grade level (dependent on completing end of year academics). Seniors will be graduating as expected. Many of our traditional end of year activities will be altered or even cancelled with the closure in effect at least until June 30. We will try to hold a graduation ceremony of some sort for our seniors. Other events such as spring sports, field trips, field day, prom, and even 5th grade camp will not occur as planned. As restrictions are eventually lifted, we will examine our options. This is not the end of year that any of us anticipated, however we need to do our part to slow the spread of the virus and continue social distancing. Go Seals!
