As we bring the 2019-2020 school year to a close, I want to say thank you for your patience and support. The Covid-19 pandemic threw all of us into a situation we were not expecting yet everyone stepped up and made the best of it. The school district sought to establish a learning environment which would enable your child to have as valuable an education as possible, and parents, you played a pivotal role. Everyone’s hard work allowed students to continue learning in a very nontraditional method.
As a school district this experience taught us a lot as well. We are identifying the things that worked and the things we can improve upon. As a district, we always strive to improve and will be using information from this past year to help us plan for the future.
We are starting to plan now for the 2020-2021 school year with the hope of returning to normal, in- person instruction while focusing on the health and safety of everyone. One of the state requirements for us is to develop a health and safety plan that will guide our reopening. As we start to develop our plan, we are asking for your input. We have created a survey for you to complete,https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/planning-familyfeedback.
Once we have a draft plan developed, we will share the details with you to provide additional feedback. Our goal is to have a draft plan by mid-July and a finalized plan by early August in preparation for the start of the new school year. This timeline will enable us to prepare, inform, and have the maximum amount of clarity when finalizing the plan heading into August, while valuing both governmental expectations and local preferences.
Once again, I want to thank you for your support as we collectively strive to assure that our students continue to receive a quality education.
