On-Line Payment Service mySchoolBucks.com

ON-LINE ACCESS TO YOUR CHILD’S LUNCH BALANCE

The Selinsgrove Area School District offers access to your child’s lunch balances through the mySchoolBucks.com service.

To get started, all you need is a computer, internet access and an email account.

There is no fee to use the mySchoolBucks Service to setup an account and view your child’s meal purchases, balances and to setup automated email notices when your child’s meal account falls below a dollar amount you specify.

 To Register Online:

Visit the website at www.mySchoolBucks.com.  Follow the instructions on the screen and provide the required information in order to register.  You can register each child using their date of birth and student identification number; and be sure to enter your child’s name exactly as you did when you registered them at school.  You will receive notification by email of successful registration.  For this reason, a valid email address is required when you sign up for the service.

MySchoolBucks.com is also a convenient and easy way to use credit/debit card prepayment system that allows parents to add money to their child’s meal account at the school.  The service allows parents to set recurring payments based on a low balance amount that they determine or make manual payments as they choose.

mySchoolBucks.com offers a secure transaction gateway that accepts VISA or MasterCard as a means of adding money to your child’s meal account.

Here are a few reasons to register now and begin using mySchoolBucks.com:

·         Safety.  Virtually eliminates worries about your child carrying lunch money to school.

·         Convenience.  Make payments when it’s convenient for you, from the comfort of your own home, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

·         Control.  View your child’s food purchases at the school cafeteria.  Also, you can setup an automatic email reminder to alert you when a payment is needed to your child’s account.

·         Efficient.  Make payments for all your children in one step, even though they may attend different schools in our district.

There is a fee if you are using mySchoolBucks Service to make an online payment.  A transaction fee will be charged each time you make an online deposit to your child’s meal account using a credit or debit card – the fee is $1.95.  You can add up to $120 onto the accounts of multiple children for a single $1.95 fee.  This transaction fee will be retained by the operators of the MySchoolBucks site.  (Example, if you fund $100 the $100 amount will deposit into the meal account and your credit/debit card will be charged $101.95)  Again, there is no fee to view your child’s lunch balances.

We are excited to be able to offer this service to our families in the school district.  We hope you will find it to be not only convenient, but a great timesaver!

Information listed here is taken from school board policy 808.1

When a students’ foodservice debit account becomes overdrawn by $20.00 or more and the foodservice cashier has made multiple attempts to contact the parents, the Director of Food & Nutrition will contact parents through phone or mail or email, informing them of the debt and the continued accumulation of the debt. After ten (10) days from the date of the letter, if there is no response, a certified letter will be sent by the Director of Food & Nutrition notifying parents that they have ten (10) days from the date on the certified letter to make restitution or the debt will be pursued through legal action. When legal action is required, the Director of Food & Nutrition will submit the proper documentation of the debt owed to the local magistrate, for collection of the debt, plus all court fees.

The possibility exist that if a parent does not make an attempt to pay off their child’s debt than an alternate lunch consisting of a cheese sandwich, low fat milk and a piece of fruit will be the student’s only option for a school meal until the debt is paid. There will be no breakfast served or ala-carte items available until the debt is paid. The alternate lunch will cost the same as the regular lunch. An alternate lunch shall be provided to students who owe $20.00 or more to the Food Service Department.

Please make every attempt to keep your child’s lunch account current. You can keep track of your child’s purchases through the myschoolbucks.com website. Just sign up and they will send you emails or call you when your child’s account is getting low.
