Mr. Matthew N. Conrad
Welcome to the Selinsgrove Area Intermediate School, where learning is valued and faculty and staff work diligently to ensure all students achieve their potential in an enthusiastic, safe and positive environment. At SAIS we believe that children are most successful when home and school are closely linked and supportive of each other – to that end, we invite and encourage all parents and community members to stop by and get involved in the many great opportunities offered to our students here at SAIS.
We have all the district’s grades 3-5 population housed at SAIS. Our 3-5 student population is approximately 580. We have eight third grade classrooms, nine fourth, and ten fifth. Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 are placed within a team of two teachers, and receive Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies instruction as they transition between teachers. All grades 3-5 students receive related arts instruction in the areas of Art, Music, Chorus and Physical Education. Band is offered to students in grade 5 as an elective subject. Guidance and Library Science classes are also offered to our students.
We enjoy an active parent group (PTSO) that meets every month, except December, and you are encouraged to attend. Last year we had numerous parents volunteering in the classrooms and throughout the school, helping students. The community has also supported us in a variety of ways. From our Adopt-a-Classroom program which links local businesses to classrooms, to our local businesses that support our recognition programs, we are very fortunate to have these close partnerships. With our wonderful faculty and staff, students, parents, and community, Selinsgrove Area Intermediate School is a great place for kids! I welcome you to come and experience the great things going on at SAIS.
