Student Assistance Program (SAP)

Student Assistance Team

A Student Assistance Team is a systematic intervention process into the lives of students at risk. An at-risk student is one who has an emotional, social and/or substance abuse problem which conflicts with the normal learning process.

These problems include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Behavioral difficulties
  2. Student neglect (physical, psychological, and sexual abuse)
  3. Student eating disorders
  4. Student depression and other mental health disorders
  5. Student substance abuse
  6. Suicide risk or suicide attempt
